Moxibustion for Psoriasis

Psoriass is a common agnogenic erythroderma desquamativum witout infectivity. It can occur in men and women, children and old, but it is more prevalent in young men. It usually occurs and become more severe in the winter, and is relieved or naturally recovers in summer. If the course of the disease is protracted it will have an insconpicous seasonal nature. Psoriasis is also commonly called cow skin tinea, white crust, or coin wind in TCM. It usually occurs due to the following, at first external pathogenic wind,cold, heat and damp accumulate and are retained in the ski and block the channels, an din the Long term causes blood deficiency and wind dryness. The skin is deprived of nourishment ad becomes rough and desquamative.

Main Symtoms : Reddish infiltrating spot skin lesions the size or larger than a coin covered with silver scales and with clear margins. If the scales are removed cribriform bleeding will occur. It occurs repeatedly all over the body, especially on Teh extensor aspect of the extremities.

Acupoints : Ashi points , Qu Chi (LI-11), Xue Hai (SP-10), Feng Chi (GB-20), Shen Shu ( BL-23), San Jin Jiao (SP-6)

Moxibustion Method:
Chose 2-3 Points, ignite the Smokeless Mixa and hold it 1.2-2inches over the point. The temperature should be hot, but not so hit that it burns the patients skin. Apply at every point for 2-5 minutes until the local skin becomes flushed. Perform 2 to 3 times a week. One treatment course is 90 days for 1 month must be done 2 -3 time a week, after one month can be done once every week.
